THE HISTORY OF WOLFSTAR

Wolfstar archers started life as Melville Castle Bowmen on the 13th November 1975.

By 1981 the club was forced to abandon the course at Melville
Castle and a new course was built at Woodhall Woods,  Ormiston, East Lothian.

A proposal by Stuart Boyd at the AGM on 10th June 1981 to retain the Melville
Castle Bowmen name was counter proposed by Eric Harris to change the
name to Wolfstar Archers.

After some discussion and a vote yes, you've guessed it Wolfstar was born.
The name was adopted from Wolfstar farm situated opposite the new course.

1989 saw another move to our current location at Pencraig Wood beside the
A1 near East Linton.  The East Lothian Council provided the wood and a
grant to build the course.

The 14 target course is open again after recent improvements to the
A1 temporarily reduced it to 10 targets. Please visit the Location page
for details on how to come and shoot with us.
